Æxylium

When Matteo and Roberto launched the folk metal combo Æxylium in picturesque Varese in 2014, the Italians had no idea that they would be standing on the equally beautiful Mount Moshmore almost ten years later. In terms of sound, the band of eight drew inspiration from genre heavyweights such as Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, and Folkstone. Nevertheless, Nordic mythology has become the strongest influence thematically, makming them a breath of fresh air in the scene.

At the European Celtic Contest 2018 in Montelago, the band successfully competed against 25,000 competitors and made it to the finals. They would like to repeat this success at our beloved hill. So watch out: If you like folky metal with dark growls, violins and catchy melodies, Æxylium are sure to tickle you in all the right spots. And you might just recognize one or two of the face on stage from earlier days.
