Hackneyed - Dong Open Air 2016

Unlike their name, the quintet from southern Germany plays brutal death metal, but certainly none of the corny type. Five years ago, the lethal steel steam rollers from Abtsgmünd earned their spot on the DOA billing as the youngest band and certainly as the youngest headliner in the history of the Dong Open Air, playing before Iced Earth, kicking ass and taking names. But Hackneyed did not keep their talent to themselves and rocked other stages as well: The congenial five spent the meantime playing at the Summer Breeze and Wacken Open Air, and on tour alongside Arch Enemy and Debauchery, reinforcing their reputation as uncompromising guarantees for broken necks. It’s safe to say that Hackneyed leave venues with burnt ground and chiropractors who are sending them Christmas cards for all the business they get them.
