THANK YOU (the 2026 edition)

Dear Dong Community,

We spent the most amazing weekend with you. While we’re still finishing up removing any and all proof of our presence on the hill, we would like to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you all who found their way up Mount Moshmore. For the amazing vibe, taking care of each other, the party, the singalongs, the moshpits and for making the Dong Open Air such a special time in all of our lives each year.

A major thank you obviously goes out to our incredible crew. Over 300 volunteer spent months each year (often completely invisibly) making sure that everything goes smoothly. There would be no Dong Open Air without them.

But beyond the crew there are many other people who make a significant contribution to allowing us to spend a wild, but safe weekend together. We would like to extend our thanks to the local EMTs from the Order of the Malta Volunteer, the police, and local authorities. A big thank you also goes out to the firefighters whom we trust and rely on each and every year. The fantastic Turock crew, who always kept your cups filled to the brim, while being the best sports we could have asked for.

We would also like to thank the initiatives and organizations who took the time to make a stop on our hill. Metality e.V. (metal charity) and Westdeutsche Spenderzentrale (fighting blood cancer) greatly contribute to causes that matter in our society and we’re happy we could provide them with a spot to present and further their cause. We’re also very appreciative of our cooperation with the GSE Werkstatt and are grateful for our trusting teamwork.

And what would a festival be without the bands? We bow our heads to the incredible and very different show that the artists from all over the world and the neighborhood have put on. We appreciate the encounters and conversations in the crowd and at the merch booth. Underground or well-established: We are just so happy about the atmosphere and community that is built during this kind of show, and how infectious it is, swashing over to the campground.

If you all had as much as we did, feel free to join us again next year! \m/ Tickets for the Dong Open Air 2027 are already available in our shop. We are already looking forward to see you all again on the hill from July 15-17, 2027.

Anyone who was on the hill this past weekend should have had access to our special early bird offer. This offer will be good until the end of the month. Life is expensive enough as is, so we can run that special for a little longer. The first thousand tickets are already gone. Thank you all for your loyalty!

Until then: Take care of yourself and thank you for being part of the Dong family.

With sore muscles and a happy smile on our face,

Your Dong Team
