Dear friends of the Dong Open Air,
dear Dong crew and emergency staff,
dear bands,
while we are still working on restoring Mount Moshmore to its original state, we would like to take the chance to say thank you!
Thank you for following the Call of the Mountain and turning the Halde Norddeutschland into the most beautiful place we can imagine on a Mid-July weekend! Thank you for being peaceful and happy, for buying everything from our merch booth in record time, for moshing and headbanging and partying together.
Hans Lazer Alien Slam almost choked on their protein shake when they realized how many of you made their way to their show in the early hours of morning (11:30am, no less). Can't quite remember everything? Catch up here.
Saltatio Mortis and the other bands who had the pleasure of experiencing the Dong crowd for the very first time ended up just as happy with is as the “repeat offenders” in the billing.
No matter if they were on their maiden voyage to the hill or this year's record holder with their fifth Dong show – a big thank you to all the bands and artists. You are the heart and sould of our event! You went all in and we could hear and feel it. The memories of these shows will reverberate in our minds for a long time.
We would also like to thank the local regulatory offices and the voluntary fire brigade of the city of Neukirchen-Vluyn, the Order of Malta Volunteers, medical equipment supplier Hodey, and the Belia team. It's not just us who appreciate you, we got many positive messages about you from our audience!
The biggest thank you goes out to our amazing crew, particularly (but not exclusively) the army of volunteers. You gave it your all and we are incredibly proud of you and what you created with so much passion. Without you there would be no Dong.
So here we are, cleaning up the hill, taking a little time to regenerate and then move on to kicking off the first plans for the next Dong, which is going to take place from July 11-13, 2024!
