Dear Dong fans,
The 22nd Dong Open Air is over! And what a weekend it was!
After a textbook example of a festival summer Thursday, we experienced weather on Friday that we had not seen in the past 12 years. The heavy rainfall and wind presented us with major challenges – which we were able to overcome more quickly than we had expected due to the sheer masses of water.
This was only possible with the active support of WF Forst GbR, local farmers, the auxiliary fire brigade Neukirchen-Vluyn, and our fantastic Dong Crüe! Our heartfelt thanks go out to this impressive allstar team!
In the meantime, you didn’t let your good mood be spoiled, went for water sports and fishing in the spontaneously created Lake Moshmore, then celebrated with DJ Benne in the party tent and finally still had the energy to rock the shortened program of the day on ourrestored stage. Thank you very much for braving the circumstances in such good spirits!
We would also like to thank the affected artists – especially Neurotic Machinery and Subterranean Masquerade whose sets had to be canceled. Both bands were – despite their lengthy trip to is – were remarkably understanding. With a little luck, we may even be able to catch up on those shows on the hill next year!
Furthermore, we would like to thank all the other bands for their impressive, captivating and firey shows which we will remember for a long time!
Finally, we would like the Malteser Hilfsdienst (Order of Malta EMTs), the police and the local authorities at the city of Neukirchen-Vluyn for helping to make this a safe event yet again.
We are excited for next year and hope to see you from July 10th to 12th 2025 for the 23rd Dong Open Air!
Take part in our visitor survey to make the upcoming festival even better.
