Band package 10: Satyricon | Night in Gales | Gaerea

Today we’re wrapping things up: Four bands are finishing this year’s lineup and tying everything together.

Satyricon kick off the final round of band announcements: Founded in Norway in the early 1990s by Satyr and Frost, they are today deemed pioneers of “Grim Frostbitten Norwegian Black Metal.” You will be able to see what 36 years of stage experience from a black metal veteran looks like when the band gets the mosh pit going at Mount Moshmore!

Gaerea from Portugal bring you post-black metal and are quite in line with this year’s trend of taking the stage fully veiled. Their musical blend of brutal intensity and melancholic atmosphere has quickly earned them a large international following. So if you haven’t yet had the chance to experience their impressive live show, this year you’ll have the opportunity to do so here!

Night in Gales have a similarly long career behind them and their fourth Dong show ahead of them! They bring you uncompromising melodic death metal from our neighborhood (Voerde) and have played every stage from Wacken to local charity festivals. Last year, marking their 30^th anniversary, the guys re-recorded their debut EP, Sylphlike, as a thank-you to their fans. Check it out!

Vorga are the answer to the question of what happens when black metal does not seek the forest, but the vacuum of space. Or what it’s like to capture the feelings of awe and utter hopelessness experienced when gazing at the night sky. The German band has dedicated itself to cosmic black metal: frosty, epic, and so existentially cold that even spacesuits fail. (And they wear masks, too!)
