Amorphis know exactly how to captivate their audience with their melodic death metal and progressive influences. With influences from the poetry collection Kanteletar and the national epic Kalevala, Tomi Joutsen and his comrades mercilessly blast Finnish culture into your cerebellum. When Octoploid take the stage, a few sounds and faces may seem familiar to you. That’s because Olli-Pekka Laine is actually a founding member of Amorphis and still the band’s bassist today. Nevertheless, he started his own solo project in 2022 and brings you a mixture of 80s and 90s metal, 70s prog rock, psychedelic and stoner rock with the debut album Beyond The Aeons. Are you ready for the finest death prog full of Nordic melancholy?
