The Swiss Celtic folk metal force Eluveitie rides their musical wrecking ball through the world of folklore, which usually comes with jolly drinking songs and flowery clichés. But instead of building on cheap cheers and light entertainment, Chrigel and his following set out for darker clouds. Eluveitie create a musical storm front, interweaving traditional Celtic instruments with brute melodic death and pagan metal.
The Swiss band feels strongly connected to the history of the Helvetii. So much that they use fragments of reconstructed Helvetian Gaelic to express their respect as they tell the tales of the Celtic tribe. They already know their way up the Dong hill – so you can look forward to enjoying Eluveitie bring out the essence of proto European culture the pagan way.
