Wind Rose - Dong Open Air 2022
At the 2020 Dong, the Italian Dwarf Brigade Wind Rose brings together all the things that belong together. Because if there are things dwarves get excited about, apart from their immense fondness of beer and mead, it’s probably these two: Metal and mining. The combative warriors around leader Francesco have pitched their tents outside of the gates of Neukirchen-Vluyn, safeguarding their fourth studio album “Wintersaga.”
While Wind Rose do not hail from the somber halls of Khazad-dûm, but from sunny Pisa, their songs are an alloy of folk and power metal, with strong elements of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. This results in epic hymns such as “The Art of War”, “To Erebor” or the party song “Drunken Dwarves.” Wind Rose are getting reading to ding in the culture of the children of Aulës, not just metaphorically. But with the self-ironic Minecraft cover “Diggy Diggy Hole” even the grimmest orc in the tent turns in to a mead soaked party animal!
