Words of Farewell - Dong Open Air 2017

Founded in 2007, Words of Farewell from the Ruhrpott have become a force to be reckoned with in the German metal scene you can hardly avoid. Style-wise they are associated with Gothenburg, but the sextet from Marl also adds a decent dash of prog metal to their complex songs. Bivocal guitar arrangements, and – a point that’s very important to the band – the complete exemption of clean vocals are among the trademarks of the demolition commando from the northern Ruhrpott.

Each and every time the congenial troupe comes over, Words of Farewell manage to break down everything that got in their way with surgical precision. Last November, the combo release their latest steel of death “A Quiet World.” The Road to Dong show was one of the first opportunities to listen to the new material.
