Lord Vigo - Dong Open Air 2017

The German land Rhineland-Palatinate has more to offer then vinyards and local delicacies like stuffed pig’s stomach. Now, the land can also add their first epic doom band Lord Vigo to their list of excellent exported goods. The band don’t take themselves too serious, as we found out no later than looking at the stage names they picked: Volguus Zildrohar, Vinz Clortho, and Tony Scoleri are all names from the Ghostbusters movies.

The film nerds released their debut album Blackbourne Souls in January of 2017, a record that quickly earned them the reputation of being one of the most promising German doom bands. It proves that Lord Vigo by no means have to hide behind the doom scene veterans, but rather secured them a spot in the first doom league. The band blends classic doom, comparable to Candlemass, with NWOBHM elements. If that sounds like your cup of tea, make sure you don’t miss out on these guys!
