Iced Earth - Dong Open Air 2017
Their Dong show from 2011 was legendary. The power metal trail blazers enjoyed themselves a whole lot and joked around on stage as if they were in their own local rehearsal space. After Matt Barlow had used the occasion to play his third last show with the band, it remained unclear how well his successor Stu Block could Matt’s shoes. The first album dissolved any fan worries that might have existed and became one of the band’s biggest successes!
We are incredibly excited to welcome the guys back – this time with their brand new album “Incorruptible” – and we are most certainly are not exaggerating when we call Iced Earth one of the biggest highlights of the Dong Open Air 2017. Patriotic hero’s pathos, deep melancholy, or brute sledgehammer riffs that take down anything and anyone they meet: Only few other bands know how to unleash this breadth of an emotional spectrum on stage.
