Jesus Chrüsler Supercar - Dong Open Air 2016
Dirty rock’n’roll handmade and delivered to you from Stockholm this year! They’re only three Swedes, but Jesus Chrüsler Supercar create a wall of sound that could not be any more powerful. We were not surprised to hear that one of the band’s inspirations is the sound of Entomed, and that Tomas Skogsberg, an icon among death metal producers, pushed the buttons for the records. In the end, this all comes together to some groovy shit that would make Lemmy rhythmically tap his whiskey cup on the bars on the other side.
The trio has released the single “Killing Machine,” the album “Among the Ruins of Desolate Lands”, and the EP “Full Blown Hell” since 2011, and reliably released great songs that will remind Dong veterans of a mixture of Crossplane and Kamikaze Kings. “Pitchfork” or “666” are excellent examples for this. “God Gave Me Nothing” also proves they know their Southern rock. Bands that have Jesus as part of their name, alongside something related to cars… experience tells us, they’re always good!
