Ravian - Dong Open Air 2013

Ravian, 2013

Ravian won the 2013 UnBaCo band contest and thus also scored a slot in the thirteenth Dong Open Air line-up. We are looking forward to have them, as we have known the guys around Gilbert Gelsdorf for quite a while as guests at the festival, but also because they have been trying hard to get to play on the hill for numerous years, witnessing their continuous improvement.

The highlight of their musical progress is not only the first prize of the young and popular band contest, but also their EP “Foreshadowing” from 2012, which gives a great impression of the musical quintessence of the Moers based sextet. If you like epic power metal – influenced by Nightwish, but with male vocals – don’t miss out on Ravian! Many of you will have come across their music already, as we used their song “The King is Dead” for our D.O.A. trailer in April. We couldn’t think of a better band to start this year’s festival.
